Carroll’s initial focus will be on expanding its partnerships across foodservice and OOH channels

Oatly has appointed Bryan Carroll as UK general manager, replacing the outgoing Ishen Paran.

Carroll started work at the oat milk giant last month. He will be responsible for leading the company into its next phase of growth in the UK with an initial focus on expanding its partnerships across foodservice and OOH channels.

Predecessor Paran announced his resignation from the position on LinkedIn last week to take a career break and spend time with his family.

Carroll brings 25 years of leadership experience across retail, foodservice and OOH channels. He previously worked for PepsiCo for 18 years across brands including Walkers, Tropicana and Quaker in a number of senior commercial leadership roles.

Most recently, he served as deputy COO of Mizkan Europe, its portfolio includes established brands such as Branston and Sarson’s Vinegar.

“I am delighted to be joining Oatly at such a pivotal moment for the brand,” said Carroll. “Our global food system is broken and a shift towards plant-based products must be part of the solution.”

He will report into Daniel Ordonez, COO for Oatly.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Bryan, whose wide-ranging achievements across the entire food and drinks category make him an ideal candidate to help rapidly accelerate our growth in the UK,” Ordonez said.

“We are so grateful to Ishen for the past six years and the phenomenal achievements he and the team have delivered in the UK in that time,” said Ordonez. “Ishen built the UK team from the ground up that has gone on to deliver 10x turnover and secure Oatly’s hero SKU – Barista Edition – as the no1 selling dairy alternative drink in the market.”
