Ocado has appointed financial PR guru David Shriver to head up its communications team.
Shriver, who has more than 30 years of experience in communications and finance, will begin the newly created role of communications director with immediate effect.
One of Shriver’s key responsibilities will be to “deepen and widen” Ocado’s relationship with its investors and with the capital markets, as well as strengthening engagement with “major stakeholders”.
Shriver comes with prior knowledge of Ocado, having held the post of managing director at its appointed PR firm Tulchan until November 2016.
Prior to working for Tulchan, Shriver was director of group financial communications and strategic advisor at Carrefour, and spent 16 years as a food retail analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston and NatWest Securities.
Ocado CEO Tim Steiner said: “We have a very exciting time ahead of us at Ocado as we bring our transformative, industry-leading technology to retailers across the world while at the same time continuing to raise the bar for customer service and satisfaction in our retail business. We have a strong story to tell and we are delighted to welcome David to the Ocado team to help us tell this story with energy and vision.”
Shriver added: “I am thrilled to be joining Ocado, a global tech innovator and disruptor and an iconic and much-loved retail business. I am a great believer in the impact of smart joined-up communication on corporate reputation and look forward to bringing my skills and experience to the benefit of Ocado and its stakeholders.”
