Ocado has signed a new supply deal with the ‘biodynamic’ organic farm run by former Formula One champ Jody Scheckter.
Seventy products from Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park Farm go on sale at the online grocer today (16 September), many of them on an exclusive basis.
The range includes black pudding, smoked back bacon, buffalo meatballs – from Scheckter’s 2,000-strong herd of water buffalo – and a range of pies. A number of items will be on promotion over the next month to celebrate the launch.
“I am absolutely delighted to be working with Ocado and bringing so many more of our products to the retailer’s customers,” said Scheckter.
Laverstoke Park – which styles itself as the ‘university of organics’ – combines an on-site abattoir with a soil analysis lab. The business was founded by Scheckter in 1996 and currently has listings with retailers including Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Selfridges.
