Ocado has added a 14th ’spoke’ to support its two customer fulfilment centres.
It has agreed to take a 15-year lease on a new 68,393 sq ft unit on the redeveloped Guinness Brewery site at Park Royal, West London.
The new facility, which sits on a 22-acre site, is expected to be operational mid-February. It will support Ocado’s CFC’s in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and Dordon, North Warwickshire.
“As the world’s largest dedicated online grocery supermarket, having quick and direct access to our customers is vital for our business,” said Ian Starling, Ocado’s head of property and network development.
”We want to deliver to our customers the best quality product in the shortest time.”
Its location in Segro’s Origin development meant that the company could “continue to be at the forefront of the e-commerce revolution”, he said.
