Oddbins is planning a “marketing counter-strike” in defiance of the ad restrictions surrounding the Olympics.
As well as a poster campaign in its windows alluding to restrictions that prevent the use of the phrase ‘London 2012’ by non-sponsors, Oddbins will offer 30% off to customers who come into one of its 35 shops with Nike trainers, a set of Vauxhall car keys, an RBS Mastercard, an iPhone, a bill from British Gas and a receipt for a Pepsi bought at KFC.
“The British people - who are paying for the Games - are being subjected to ridiculous rules,” said Oddbins MD Ayo Akintola.
