Simon O'Brien has been appointed business development manager at Gott Foods. He will be responsible for national manufacturers, southern based foodservice accounts and some retail accounts. O'Brien has previously worked for Kellow Meats and Kerry Foods. Independent pharmacy group Numark has promoted marketing director David Wood, 39, to deputy managing director. He will take over as managing director when Terry Norris retires in May 2002. As deputy managing director Wood will continue to oversee Numark's strategic five year plan to establish and self regulate minimum standards within the society's members. Tony Goodson, md of frozen vegetable and fruit supplier Ardovries Shearway, has been elected vice chairman of the producer, importer and broker committee of the British Frozen Foods Federation. Discovery Foods has announced the appointment of Brian Ridgeway as md of sister company Sonora Foods, the tortilla manufacturer. Ridgeway has previously worked for Ross Foods, United Biscuits, Bowyers and Ginsters.
