Tesco is set to broaden its newly redesigned organic range in response to customer demand. This month sees the introduction of organic raspberries in its stores, as well as Camembert and Brie.
According to the retail chain’s research, organic foods are beginning to appeal to a broader spectrum of customers and one Tesco shopper in four now buys at least one organic product.
Business planning manager Christy Van Maanenberg said: “There is no longer a stereotypical organic shopper.
“The market continues to grow apace and new ranges together with better availability continue to attract new customers into the area.”
The changes come ahead of the Soil Association’s National Organic Week and Tesco plans to mark the event, which takes place between September 4 and 11, with price reductions and promotions in stores.
