Five new recruits have been appointed to the Sainsbury's book buying team. Phil Carroll, the retailer’s former newspapers and magazines buyer, will head the new team and will be joined by Sharon Gurney, Shelley Roberts, Louise Ward, Nick Pullan and Natalie Sumner. Mavis Sarvo remains children’s buyer, with Kearan Ramful as junior buyer.
Sainsbury's non-food team has come together under one roof, with the general merchandise operation relocating to Coventry to join the Tu clothing team this month. The team will be led by new non-food MD Luke Jensen, who is currently Sainsbury's strategy director.

Eric Benoist, marketing director of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, replaces Riley, with Pernod Ricard senior marketing category director Anne-Claire Rodary taking on Benoist’s role.
Percy Fox has promoted Adrian Beckett to the new role of brand executive for its Vranken-Pommery Monopole Champagne portfolio. Beckett was previously marketing and sales co-ordinator and will be working across Champagne brands Pommery, Heidsieck & Co Monopole, Charles Lafitte and Demoiselle, as well as running the events and sponsorship calendar.
Paul Inglett, finance director of Marston’s, is leaving the pub operator and brewer after 17 years “to pursue other opportunities”. Inglett will remain at Marston’s until May and the search for a new FD has started, Marston’s said.
Ian Harley has joined John Menzies as a non-executive director. He is currently deputy chairman and an independent director at British Energy Group and chairman of Rentokil Initial Pension Trustee.
