The deadline for The Grocer Own-label Accreditation Scheme Festive Showcase has been extended.
Retailers and suppliers now have until 10 September to enter products from their Christmas ranges.
The scheme scores own-label products against a range of key metrics at consumer panels across the UK. To reflect the consumer mindset while Christmas shopping, changes have been made to the normal judging criteria including up-weightings for key scoring metrics like first impression value and packaging. The value-for-money metric has also been redefined with a ‘special occasion’ weighting.
Results of the Festive Showcase will be returned in early October to allow use of the logo across packaging and marketing ahead of the festive buying cycle.
All kinds of festive food and drink can be submitted for testing including whole and prepared turkey and poultry, soft and alcoholic festive drinks, mince pies, puddings, cheeses and party food.
Entrants to the Festive Showcase will be automatically entered to win The Grocer Festive Retailer of the Year 2019 award, which will be announced at the Own-label Feast on 14 November.
