Speciality roaster Pact Coffee is to launch a V60 brewing kit into 242 Waitrose stores.
The drip filter (rsp: £11) is made by Pact in collaboration with Japanese manufacturer Hario. It will roll into 242 Waitrose stores from 17 November at a promotional price of £8.80 until next year.
Pact’s V60 – the first piece of speciality coffee brewing kit to launch in Waitrose – is made from heat-proof plastic and contains a measuring scoop and 40 paper filters.
It was aimed at shoppers looking to “take their first steps into speciality coffee”, said Pact’s director of growth Sophie Sheach.
“The V60 is synonymous with Pact Coffee,” said Sheach. “It’s easy to use, takes just a minute more than instant coffee, and gets the very best flavours from top-quality coffee. For this reason, it’s a fantastic way for customers to take their first steps into speciality coffee and notice the huge jump in quality.
“We’re delighted to introduce this to Waitrose customers so that they discover how easy it is to bring a whole new quality of coffee to their homes.”
Waitrose coffee buyer Polly Astbury added: “The V60 makes unbeatable filter coffee and is regularly used at the world’s top coffee competitions and cafés. Its affordable price and simplicity make it the perfect piece of kit for creating great coffee at home every day.”
Originally a DTC retailer, Pact Coffee made its grocery debut in Waitrose in 2023, and has extended with listings in Whole Foods and Ocado in 2024.
In June, the roaster rolled its more affordable House Coffee into Waitrose in ground and pod formats.
