Palm oil prices rose as reserves failed to meet demand despite a recovery in production and 24% increase in stocks on the previous season. Further pressure came from upward trends in vegetable oils.
Meanwhile, palm kernel oil prices also climbed as production fell below expectation causing some speculative purchasing.
Sugar prices rose but remain significantly down on last year due to large global supplies and expectations of a surplus. High volumes are predicted next season.
