Parfetts has confirmed it will open a new depot in central Birmingham, as it looks to expand its GoLocal and The Local symbols.
The business said the new 100,000 sq ft depot, which is currently vacent and due to open later this year, would create over 100 new jobs and provide independent retailers in the Midlands with a range of regular promotions and quarterly showcases.
It will be the eighth and most-southernly facility in Parfetts’ estate, joining the Aintree, Anfield, Halifax, Middlesbrough, Sheffield, Somercotes and Stockport depots.
“Our eighth depot is an important milestone in the development of Parfetts and our symbol groups,” said Parfetts joint MD Guy Swindell. “It brings our employee-owned and value-led cash & carry model to the Midlands, which we believe will help to support independent retailers across the region.
“As an employee-owned business, Parfetts can reinvest back into the business and support customers.”
Joint MD Noel Robinson said: “We continue to invest in our offer with an award-winning symbol group, rapidly expanding own label offering and a value proposition designed to support retailer margins. We are excited to launch the depot later this year.”
It comes as Parfetts recently invested in digital agency Pixel, as the business looks to build new technology for convenience retailers and customers.
