Parfetts has awarded its staff with a 4% bonus after hitting a ‘record breaking’ turnover of £570m for the year ending 30 June 2021.
The latest tax-free cash to staff follows a series of bonuses throughout the year paid by the wholesaler during the pandemic. These included a fixed sum paid out at “busy points” in 2020 along with a Christmas bonus. Parfetts employees also received an annual profit share in October.
Parfetts said it had rewarded staff after an “unprecedented year of growth”, which saw turnover jump 21%.
All depots showed sales growth during the latest financial year with online orders now accounting for 40% of all sales.
The wholesaler said it was now working with suppliers to “optimise availability” as restrictions are lifted.
“Everyone at Parfetts has gone above and beyond this year to help retailers navigate the challenges of lockdowns and restrictions across our regions,” said joint MD (designate) Guy Swindell.
“As an employee-owned business, we are able to reinvest back into the business to rapidly advance our plans for depot growth, the expansion of our delivered service and our fascia operations. Our retailers continue to tell us they appreciate the personal approach along with great availability and great value.
“As we enter the next financial year, the board is committed to continuing to grow the business and believes there are still significant opportunities to do so. It will again be the hard work of all colleagues that can make it achievable.”
