Parfetts will open nine more branches of its off-licence fascia The Local by the end of March this year.
The opening of the new stores will take the overall total in the estate to 29, just 18 months after it launched.
“We’re really pleased with the reception The Local has had in the market,” said Parfetts joint MD Guy Swindell. ”The combination of sector-leading support and a focus on delivering value has attracted some great retailers.
“The Local now has 20 stores across the UK with another nine that will be launched in the first quarter of 2023. Interest levels remain high and a strong pipeline of interests suggests a transformative year ahead.”
It comes as Parfetts head of retail Steve Moore said retailers operating under the banner had experienced strong Christmas sales and increased profits.
Parfetts said that, despite heavy competition from discounters in the sector, its competitive pricing had helped to boost value perception and retailers to maintain business.
“In 2023 we will be focusing heavily on further developing the Local brand, whilst ensuring we attract the right type of retailer to maintain a consistent offer as we grow at pace,” said Moore.
