United Biscuits has made Joy Parkinson director of the McVitie's Cake Company. She replaces Garry Biggs who is taking over as McVitie's marketing director.
Parkinson, who will report to Colin Hutchison, UK & Export managing director, will oversee a team of 300 and a £5m marketing budget.
Parkinson was previously KP and McVitie's commercial controller for Ireland.
She joined United Biscuits in February 1998 as marketing general manager, and took responsibility for sales and marketing in Ireland in October 1999.
Before joining UB, Parkinson was a graduate trainee at Mars, working there for two years before leaving to join Coca-Cola in 1993 where she held a variety of management positions.
