Parmalat Dairies will close its Mildenhall dairy in Suffolk at the end of June resulting in 150 redundancies.
Parmalat Dairies UK managing director Chris Ball said the pressure of rising milk prices had made yogurt-making at the site unsustainable.
He said it would not be downsizing turnover as production would be consolidated at its Kendal site in Cumbria.
He added that there would be job opportunities at Kendal for engineers, technical people and some managers.
