Vegetable preparation business Parripak has been acquired by William Jackson & Son for an undisclosed sum.
Bedfordshire-based Parripak started out packing shallots and onions grown on the farm. It has since grown to fill a 52,000 sq ft packhouse that processes and packs carrots, parsnips and potatoes for manufacturers. It also cuts and supplies imported vegetables.
The 230-employee business fits alongside William Jackson's other interests in ready meals, baked goods, salad processing and the Aunt Bessie's brand, according to MD Norman Soutar.
