Grocery industry veteran Paul Dennis has filled the retail director vacancy at Motor Fuel Group left by Richard Baker last year.
Dennis joins the UK’s second-largest independent forecourt operator from Conviviality Retail - which operates as Bargain Booze, Select Convenience and Wine Rack - where he was retail and development director.
He is the latest of several hires including former Applegreen retail boss Michael O’Loughlin, who joined as managing director for acquisitions and business development last autumn.
Dennis’s 30-year career in retail includes roles at Sainsbury’s, Asda, Central England Co-operative and My Local.
He will take charge at MFG of improving the group’s retail range and customer offer.
“This is another key appointment for us as MFG drives ahead with strengthening its retail offering,” said MFG chief executive William Bannister.
“The combined retail expertise of Paul and Michael O’Loughlin, who joined us recently from Applegreen, shows our commitment to improve our retail offer in terms of quality, customer service, price and proposition.”
