Confectionery stalwart Walnut Whip is being given a contemporary feel with the introduction of a permanent new variation, Maple & Pecan.
Available from Monday (March 11), the 92-year-old brand's trademark walnut makes way for a single pecan nut while the light whipped centre has the added flavour of maple.
Targeted at the younger end of the brand's usual 25 to 44-year-old female audience, Nestlé said it was hoping to bring the "same contemporary luxury to confectionery as Häagen-Dazs has to ice cream".
Sales communications manager Graham Walker said: "The new variant should bring new users to the brand."
