Colin Pedrick has been named the new president for Interbrew UK and Ireland.
Pedrick, who is promoted from managing director for on-trade sales, will take up his new role on Monday, replacing Steve Cahillane, who moves up to the role of chief commercial officer for InBev, of which Interbrew UK is a subsidiary.
Pedrick has worked in the brewing industry since 1979, when he joined Whitbread as a regional sales manager from Unilever. He has held sales, customer service and logistics roles for the on-trade and take-home sectors.
This included the role of
director of sales strategy at Interbrew UK where he was responsible for developing a new approach to customer service. He also implemented a number of changes in the structure of Interbrew UK’s sales force to bring a more tailored and focused approach to meet the needs of customers in different sectors.
In 2001 he was promoted to the Interbrew UK board of directors as customer services/ logistics director before becoming MD for on-trade sales in January 2003.
Cahillane said: “Having worked closely with Colin over the last two years, I am confident that his wealth of industry experience and knowledge and his passion for developing the business and moving it forward will enable him to achieve our aim of becoming the UK’s number one brewer.”
Imperial Tobacco Group has appointed Colin Day as a non-executive director. Day is currently group finance director for Reckitt Benckiser. He was previously group finance director for Aegis Group and has held a number of senior financial positions with ABB Group and De La Rue Group.
Graeme McFaull, MD for Wincanton’s UK & Ireland operations, is to succeed Paul Bateman as chief executive. Wincanton said McFaull had played a key role in the development of Wincanton’s growth strategy. Bateman will retire in the next 12 months.
Oddbins senior buyer, Emma Nichols, has been promoted to the role of head buyer. She replaces Lynne Coyle who left the company last month after four years in the role. An Oddbins spokeswoman said Nichols had “has an excellent knowledge of the company”.
