Pet goods supplier Petface has been rescued from administration by a Hertfordshire outdoor furniture company.
Petface, which sells pet-related goods, treats and toys through retailers including Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, appointed administrators BDO last week.
Outdoor furniture and barbecue supplier LeisureGrow acquired the business and assets, saving all 44 jobs at Petface.
The supplier recorded £14.8m in sales in the year ending 31 December 2016, but saw increasing sales costs and distribution fees push it to a £1.3m pre-tax loss.
LeisureGrow MD Jody Grimmer said: “Our focus for the coming weeks and months will be to ensure existing Petface customers receive better service, good availability of stock, and reliable stock delivery - including weekly replenishment deliveries where required.
“We will be centralising stock to our LeisureGrow distribution centre and integrating key staff into our Hertfordshire headquarters. Going forwards Petface customers can expect the high standard of service and reliability that LeisureGrow is known for.”
