Soft drinks startup Phrooti is rolling out its sugar-free Fruit Infused Water range following funding from two angel investors.
The undisclosed deal came after the Sheffield brand’s Crowdcube campaign – launched in November to raise £150,000 – collapsed when the cornerstone investor pulled out.
Two people from Phrooti’s home county of South Yorkshire have since taken a 4% stake in the business, allowing it to create its low-calorie lineup. It is available in a 250ml glass bottle in two variants: Raspberries & Strawberries, and Blackcurrants, Blackberries & Blueberries (rsp: £2.50).
“The market is crying out for a product like this,” said brand founder Jerôme Jacob, who founded the Phrooti brand with a range of sugar-free fruit teas. “We’re looking to satisfy those consumers who want a healthier alternative that is still delicious.”
