Madrange, the French pigmeat processor that began attracting attention in the UK market as a supplier of pâté and sliced ham a couple of years ago, will soon have a higher profile here, and one much more in keeping with its role as one of the EU industry leaders.
Andrew Jenkins, until recently Madrange's solo performer in this country is to have his selling and marketing firepower greatly enhanced.
Madrange UK has been set up to "demonstrate commitment to the market".
This move will be followed by advertising and point of sale promotion campaigns in the summer.
Madrange has long been capable of supplying much greater volumes to the UK that most other market participants here realised.
Greater visibility in the UK, where outsider suppliers seem sure to enjoy increasing opportunities as pig production continues declining, seems the logical progression for Madrange.
And what about the purchase of British processing facilities, which Madrange executives have hinted would make sense with sales growth at the expected pace?
