Craft cider brand Pilango has launched a hop-infused cider called Hopped.
The NPD, a medium dry 4% sparkling cider, has launched into independents across London in 330ml bottles, with an eye to expanding its presence nationally into further independent retailers. It does not have a set rsp.
It was inspired by the US craft cider scene, said Pilango director Victor Zasadzki. “People often overlook craft cider, but it is a wonderful product. As a category, it has the diversity of wine and the innovation of craft beer.”
Hopped had a “citrus, floral taste profile with notes of elderflower”, he said, adding the brand had a “healthy innovation pipeline” with “imminent” further releases.
