Pilgrims Choice has launched its Inclusions range of blended chesses.

The cheddar brand has launched four SKUs of Mature Cheddar blended with herbs, spices, vegetables and seasonings.

The range includes an Italian, Mexican, American and British option.

The Italian One – Garlic & Herb includes garlic, chives and black pepper to deliver a pesto-style flavour. Meanwhile The Mexican One – Smoked Paprika combines paprika and smoked water with caramelised onion to add sweetness and umami.

The American One – Hot Honey harnesses the ‘hot honey’ trend by including paprika and jalapeño, along with honey and white vinegar. It is designed to be a topper to burgers, pastas and pizzas.

The British One – Caramelised Onion is based on a cheese and onion flavour profile but also includes porcini, roast garlic, honey and black pepper.

Pilgrims said the lineup was created to deliver an all in one, cuisine-led solution for consumers keen to explore new flavours and cooking styles.

It will be available in block, grated and sliced formats and will start appearing in Tesco stores across the UK from March, with more listings to come.

Pilgrims Choice owner Ornua Foods UK carried out a category and consumer insights project that revealed that when it came to cheese, 50% of consumers wanted to explore new flavour experiences without compromising on use and speed.

The Inclusions launch wascreated in response to this. The naming convention given to the quartet of choices is aimed at highlighting each variant’s usage to help shoppers navigate the range.

“As a brand we want to ensure that the exciting developments we are making to the Pilgrims Choice range are ultimately what consumers really want,” said Nicola Blackmore-Squires, Ornua Foods UK marketing director. “By tapping into cutting-edge food trends, we are focused on addressing unmet usage occasions and driving mealtime inspiration to enable them to live a life full of flavour!”
