Pipers Crisp Co has added its first healthier snack range, Crispeas, a trio of pea-based crisps.
Going up against the likes of Yushoi Baked Pea Snacks, Pipers’ premium English Mint, Matar Paneer and Salsa Verde variants (rsp: £1.14) will be available from 14 May, containing 95 calories per 21g serving (429-434kcals per 100g).
Made from British garden peas, the trio has an average protein content of 18.6g per 100g.
Its launch, aimed at 18 to 34-year-olds, came as “over half the population is now buying into the better for you category” said Pipers. “Healthy snacks are being bought far more frequently.”
