Pladis has appointed Aslı Özen Turhan as chief marketing officer for the UK & Ireland.
Turhan will leave her current position as Pladis CMO for Turkey to step into the role on 21 February.
She takes the place of Caroline Hipperson, who has been appointed as VP of business development for Pladis’ global business.
Özen Turhan had “extensive experience in various snacking categories at driving sustained growth through innovation and brand building”, said Pladis.
Over the past 18 years she had “played a pivotal role working for Pladis masterbrand, Ülker, where she transformed the company’s marketing organisation and agenda”, it added.
Hipperson, meanwhile, would help the company “drive new portfolio opportunities globally” in her new role as VP of business development.
Hipperson joined Pladis in April 2020 and had “successfully led the marketing agenda during the Covid-19 pandemic”, orchestrating “a number of exciting new partnerships, including McVitie’s role as lead sponsor of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent”, said Pladis.
Pladis UK MD David Murray said Hipperson left “a strong legacy behind her”.
“We wish her all the best and look forward to working with her in her new role”, he said, adding that he was “really pleased to welcome Asli to the UK&I team.”
Özen Turhan was a “proven leader” and “a valuable addition as we look to grow our heritage brands and further strengthen our marketing capabilities”, he said.
