Planet Organic has ramped up its food delivery service in a bid to compete with the major online retailers.
The organic producer has partnered with online marketplace and delivery service Hubbub to offer customers in Greater London next-day delivery in one-hour time slots.
The service will run for five days a week and apply to the entire range of Planet Organic products.
Hubbub founder and co-CEO Marisa Leaf said the three-week trial of the service had been “successful” and was “a lot more convenient” for customers than Planet Organic’s previous courier service, which could not deliver at the same speed.
The new “first-class delivery service” would enable Planet Organic to compete with the likes of Ocado and Amazon Fresh, Leaf added.
Hubbub is planning to extend the delivery service to the 110 independent shops that trade on its online marketplace.
