Vegan chocolate brand Hip has gone beyond bars with a three-strong range of sharing pouches.
Caramel Crunch Peanuts, Peanut Butter Truffle Bites and Creamy & Smooth Buttons (rsp: £3-£3.50/90g) are made with oat milk.
They will roll into Selfridges on 20 February and Whole Foods Market on 1 April.
“We believe they’ll be a huge hit with Hip fans up and down the country, as well as attracting new followers to the brand,” said Hip founder and Cadbury descendant James Cadbury.
“Our success is testament to the enduring popularity of oat milk, which we believe not only tastes as good as traditional dairy milk, but is also far more sustainable to produce.”
Hip’s expansion into sharing pouches comes after parent brand Love Cocoa last month netted £4.3m in funding. The ethical chocolatier said money from the round would support its next stage of development, including opening a retail store, as well as driving distribution for Hip and growing its senior management team to include a new finance director and head of marketing.
The NPD comes after Doisy & Dam launched its own vegan take on peanut M&M’s, called D&Ds, in May 2021.
Doisy & Dam, which was saved from administration by Nurture Brands in October 2022, also counts truffles in its range of vegan confectionery, alongside plant-based takes on Maltesers, Buttons and Mini Eggs.
