Wine distributor Roger Harris and bottler Paul Sapin have joined forces to launch the UK's first range of wines in long-life plastic bottles.
The new La Perle range will be available in Merlot, Chardonnay and Syrah Rosé variants, packaged in multi-layer PET bottles.
The new format would keep wine fresh for more than two years, the companies claimed. This was longer than the widely available standard PET packaging, which preserved the drink for up to nine months, Paul Sapin added.
The wines are available to retailers now, rsp £5.99.
