Drinks producers are following in the footsteps of food companies in a bid for the Polish pound.
Carlsberg is the second drinks company in a matter of weeks to launch a drink aimed at Polish immigrants living in the UK.
Okocim is a 5.5% abv Pilsner-style beer from Brezko in Poland. It has been available in London for two years, but Carlsberg has now obtained supply rights for the whole of the UK.
Last week Global Brands released Polish vodka Sobieski into the UK, and Nestlé and Heinz have both recently launched Polish food ranges into the UK market.
"The Polish community is growing and demand is increasing for Polish products," said Carlsberg UK marketing director Darran Britton.
"Okocim will definitely attract the Polish community but will also appeal to other drinkers who are looking for something a little different."
