Fried chicken chain Popeyes has launched a new ‘Savin’ Menu’ with 11 items under £5 to compete with rival fast food chain value offers on the high street.
The chain has dropped its base price to £1.99 and is lowering its price for core items including wraps, fries, biscuits and gravy, mac and cheese, and fried chicken items.
Popeyes has also added a limited time deal offer for a wrap, fries and regular drink for £5.
The new menu will make prices 30% cheaper on average compared to the regular price.
“Every day we’re exploring how we can give our fans the taste of our famous fried chicken at the best price”, said Popeyes UK CEO Tom Crowley.
“With the complete refresh and relaunch of our Savin’ Menu, we’re hoping even more people can enjoy the taste of Popeyes® to brighten the January blues, and get into the Louisianan spirit without breaking the bank.”
The new menu will be available from the second week of January in store and for orders made via the Popeyes app, with the limited-time offer running until the last day of the month.
The chain announced it is planning to keep its proposition “heavily on value” after reporting expected sales over £100m in FY24 and growing its estate from 51 sites in 2024.
