Poundland is rolling out its home delivery service to online customers of Fultons nationwide.

Customers of Star Bargains – the name of Fultons online service – have been sent a marketing email saying it has closed but they can now get “immediate access” to Poundland home delivery instead, “regardless of where you live and work”.

Poundland home delivery, which launched last summer, has so far only been available in select postcode areas in the Midlands and north of England.

The rollout means former Fultons online customers nationwide can now have Poundland’s online range of ambient food and drink, health and beauty, household and pets, general merchandise and clothing delivered to their door. The range includes ‘online exclusives’ such as toys priced at £25.

Poundland uses a former store in Cannock, Staffordshire, as an online distribution centre.

Fultons – which Poundland acquired in 2020, enabling it to rollout frozen and chilled food to hundreds of stores – also sold ambient food through starbargains.co.uk. The website remains live but a banner has been added informing visitors: “Star Bargains is closing but we’ve got something better planned.”

Poundland’s marketing email tells customers to “please ignore the messages” on shop.poundland.co.uk “that talk about postcode restrictions - you’ll have access as long as you live in mainland UK.”

A Poundland spokesman confirmed Star Bargains customers had been given access to Poundland online “regardless of where they live” in the country.
