Global Brands has launched new RTD brand House of Cocktails to help grocers tap soaring demand for premixed drinks.
The 250ml range (rsp: £1), which rolled into Tesco and One Stop last week, comprises five flavours: Mojito, Woo Woo, Strawberry Daiquiri, Appletini and Cosmo.
“We have identified a clear opportunity for the off-trade, where value and convenience need to be at the heart of every retailer’s offer,” said Global Brands marketing director Simon Green. “The House of Cocktails range allows supermarkets to capitalise on the ‘big night In’ trend, stocking brands that give consumers the chance to experience bar drinks at home.”
In May Global Brands launched Flare Cocktails, a similar range of 250ml RTDs at the same price point, but aimed at the convenience channel.
Sales of RTD cans are growing at 15.8% [Nielsen 52 w/e 20 June 2015], helping total RTD sales rise 6.7% to £151.2m [Kantar 52 w/e 19 July 2015].
