Premier Foods has acquired meat-free and organic food producer Cauldron Foods for £27m.
Premier Foods said that the Cauldron brand would sit alongside and be highly complementary to its Quorn brand, which it acquired earlier this year.
Robert Schofield, chief executive of Premier Foods, added: “Cauldron fulfils all our acquisition criteria. It enhances our branded mix, it is UK focused and meets all our financial hurdles.”
Meanwhile, Premier Foods has completed the disposal of its tea business to Apeejay International Tea for £80m. The deal was originally announced last month.
