On-the-go food chain Pret a Manger is expanding its value range of sandwiches and adding new vegan lines as part of a revamp of its 2023 menu.
Pret is adding eight granary sandwiches to its value ‘Made Simple’ range, following a summer trial. The lineup, which has a starting price of £2.99, sees the return of Pret’s BLT, but also includes new additions like Chicken Salad, Ham Salad and Humous & Veg.
“With the cost of living crisis impacting people across the country, this year we wanted to introduce new products and deals that give customers more choice and value for money, whilst ensuring our fresh food and delicious-tasting products are not compromised,” said Pret interim UK MD Guy Meakin.
The refresh includes four new vegan products, including the PLT sandwich – a plant-based equivalent to its BLT – and the Spicey No’Duja and Tomato Macaroni pasta meal. The new Spicy No’Duja Toasted Focaccia and the Plant Ploughman’s Baguette will be made using vegan ’cheeze’ from Violife for the first time, the chain said.
Pret is adding 13 new items in total, inclduing an expansion to its breakfast and high protein range.
The menu includes the new Bacon & Egg and Halloumi & Egg Breakfast Beans Boxes, as well as a new Chicken & Avocado Protein Box, Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Broth soup and a return of the chain’s Chicken Pesto Wrap.
A mango & pineapple fruit pot, as well as plastic-free chewing gum provided by Milliways, has also been added.
The new 2023 menu will be available from 10 January, Pret said.
The announcement comes alongside the launch of a new January meal deal offer. Throughout January, customers will be able to purchase any of the chain’s full-size baguettes, with either crisps or popcorn for £5.

The PLT – Roasted shiitake & chestnut mushroom rashers with sliced tomatoes, salad mix and a dollop of vegan black pepper & parsley mayo served on malted bread. (vegan)
Plant Ploughmans Baguette – Smoky vegan cheeze, with spicy chipotle ketchup and Pret pickle chutney. Finished with roasted tomatoes, sliced red onion and salad mix in a white baguette. (vegan)
Chicken & Avo Protein Box – British chicken with free-range hard boiled eggs, sliced avocado, soya edamame beans, spinach and a lemon wedge. Finished with French dressing and sesame seeds.
Spicy No’Duja and Tomato Macaroni – Tubetti Rigati pasta with spinach, roasted tomatoes, a spicy red pepper sauce and red pesto. Topped with mushroom No’Duja and a sprinkling of panko breadcrumbs. (vegan)

Bacon & Egg Breakfast Beans Box – Breakfast beans with beechwood smoked bacon, roasted mushrooms and a soft poached egg.
Halloumi & Egg Breakfast Beans Box – Breakfast beans with baked halloumi, spinach and a soft poached egg.
Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Broth – A spicy chilli and lemongrass broth, with chicken, carrots, peppers, spring onions, tamari soy sauce and fish sauce, finished with coriander and lime juice.
Tropical Fruit Pot – A tropical selection of passionfruit, pineapple and mango.
