Oriental restaurant and retail brand Itsu - created by Pret A Manger founder Julian Metcalfe - is being expanded into iced teas and miso soups.
Metcalfe’s Food Co is rolling out iced white tea to Waitrose next month in pomegranate and peach flavours (rsp: £1.45) and recyclable cardboard ‘cans’.
In April, it is launching miso soups into Sainsbury’s in a resealable pouch (rsp: £1.85) containing three sachets of original or vegetarian soup paste. “Miso has become increasingly popular, but there is a limited offering in retailers,” said Metcalfe’s Food Co MD Robert Jakobi.
The company is also expanding its Skinny popcorn into sharing bags in April.
