The British Meat Processors Association has expressed disappointment at the Migration Advisory Committee’s failure to include boning and trimming in its recommended shortage occupation list.
The Committee, which was charged with recommending changes to the current Home Office list, said there was insufficient evidence that these jobs should be on the list. In response the BMPA has called upon the industry to argue its case more effectively.
“Perhaps there’s a message there for industry to provide that evidence,” said Stuart Roberts, BMPA director.
