Lovers of Indian beer are about to get another choice in the growing repertoire of brews from the subcontinent.
Adi Adi, pronounced ‘ah dee ah dee’, is brewed and bottled in Bangalore and is going into wholesalers, cash and carries and London restaurants now.
The 5% premium lager is available in two sizes - 330ml and 650ml - and no rsp has been set, leaving retailers to decide at what level to price it. Pradeep Kumar, joint director and founder of Adi Adi, said: “We have developed a brew worthy of the South Indian salutation ‘Adi Adi’ which means ‘cheers with pride’.
He said the name reflected the recipe which gave the beer “the crisp taste that is the hallmark of a true Indian beer”.
Distribution is being handled by Essential Garden which specialises in bringing food and drink into the UK from India.
