Kent-based wholesaler Q Catering has acquired fresh produce specialist RJ Kingsland to expand its fresh offering to customers.
Based in Sittingbourne, Kent, Q Catering supplies customers across East Sussex, Kent and Surrey with chilled, ambient and frozen products, as well as packaging and cleaning essentials.
Q Catering’s customers include education and foodservice businesses such as leisure outlets, cafés, restaurants, coffee shops and pubs.
An improved fresh produce range would make the Caterforce member a “one-stop shop” for its south east customers, according to the wholesaler.
Family-run business RJ Kingsland & Son has served catering and retail customers across Kent with fresh and chilled products since the 1950s.
The business will keep operating independently, with central operations being managed from Q’s Sittingbourne HQ.
“Joining forces with Kingsland means that now more than ever, we can provide our customers with a genuine one-stop shop for top-quality produce,” said Q Catering managing director Steve Clarke. “Not only will this make their lives easier, but they can be assured of the same fantastic service that we provide already.
“By teaming up with another local, family-run business, we will continue to place the customer right at the heart of what we do. Kingsland, like us, offers flexibility and a personal service, and this partnership will enable us to continue growing and achieve our ambitious goals for the future.”
