QD Stores has opened its first Thingmebobs store since acquiring the ­discount chain in January 2013.

The store opened in Swaffham, Norfolk, last week creating seven jobs. It stocks thousands of discounted lines spanning categories including grocery, pet and garden.

Thingmebobs previously had 10 stores. It was acquired by its larger discount rival QD Stores for an undisclosed sum.

“It is clear that consumer demand for a highly varied product offer at low cost and available on high streets remains strong in market towns and we welcome the opportunity to take on more units like Swaffham,” said operations director David Haycox.
