Despite the rather dark, possibly over-baked appearance of Tesco's (four stars out of five) product, it had by far the best texture, with a pleasing crunch complementing a full, lasting flavour.
There was very little to choose between Tesco's offer and that of Waitrose (four stars) despite its contrasting vivid golden colour and it too had a decent crunch and pleasant taste.
Asda's cornflakes (three stars) had a wholesome flavour, but were a touch powdery.
Morrisons' product (two stars) had a rather dismal, pasty appearance and also lacked flavour, but was still better than Sainsbury's (one star) line. It may have looked the part, but its flimsy flakes lacked both bite and taste. Very disappointing.
