Yoghurt brand Rachel’s Organic has expanded its single-serve breakfast pot range with the launch of two new Greek-style flavours.
Natural and honey flavoured variants topped with granola went on sale in Nisa stores last week (rsp: 99p), adding to the West Wales-based brand’s long-established vanilla breakfast pot.
The launch of the two new SKUs was a response to an increasing consumer demand “for convenient and healthy breakfast alternatives”, Rachel’s said, with the two new flavours chosen due to their success in big pot formats.
“Following the popularity of our Greek-style big pots and our existing single vanilla breakfast pot, it seemed a natural step to combine the two, offering the shopper even more variety and satisfaction when it comes to the most important meal of the day,” said Rachel’s marketing manager Daniel Wheeler, who noted there was a “clear gap in the market” for such an offering.
The launch follows the introduction of the brand’s first range of 0% fat flavoured Greek-style yoghurts in February in peach & passionfruit, lemon & ginger and blueberry variants.
Rachel’s saw sales drop by 13.8% last year to £36.3m [Nielsen 52 w/e 10 October 2015], caused in part by a delisting by Tesco as part of its Project Reset range review.
