Kraft Heinz has appointed Rafael Oliveira as managing director of UK & Ireland.
Oliveira will begin his role on 1 September, taking over from Matt Hill, president of Kraft Heinz Europe who has held the post since March on an interim basis alongside his existing responsibilities.
Before Hill, Jan Kruise held the position of managing director of the region, but moved on from the company “to pursue other opportunities”. He had worked at Heinz for 13 years before he took on the role.
Oliveira joined Kraft Heinz in 2014, and for the past two years has been president of Kraft Heinz Australia, New Zealand and Papua. The categories, brands and trade structures in these markets are similar to the UK and Ireland, according to the brand.
Before Kraft Heinz, Oliveira worked for Goldman Sachs for 10 years. He has international experience from Iberia, Hong Kong and Brazil, and lived and worked in the UK for six years. He also holds an MBA from the University of Chicago.
