DTC frozen ready meals startup Field Doctor is lining up a £600k crowdfunding round to scale operations across the UK.
Launched nationally in January 2021, the business makes meals for consumers with dietary conditions such as IBS.
More than 500 potential investors have registered for early access to the Seedrs campaign, which launches publicly on the crowdfunding platform on 31 May.
Field Doctor will use cash raised from the funding round to invest in its manufacturing and delivery capabilities.
The business was founded by dietitian Sasha Watkins, Martin Dewey, who created gourmet pie brand Square Pie and Alex Brooks, formerly MD of sports nutrition brand For Goodness Shakes.

“Crowdfunding was the right route for the next stage of our journey because of our loyal and passionate customer base who we want to be part of the future. At Field Doctor we’ve got aspirational plans, including launching new ranges and ultimately helping the millions of people with illnesses take back control of their health.”
Field Doctor offers a range of more than 30 meals – including chicken pad thai, beef and lentil lasagne, fish pie and vegetarian moussaka – designed by Watkins and chef-cooked before being frozen in small batches in Somerset.
The business said its range was the first to be certified as low FODMAP, an acronym for fermentable short-chain carbohydrates that some people find hard to digest.
