Brindley joined Tesco as a buying and marketing graduate 11 years ago and has worked in various buying areas including continental meats, pâté, bakery, snacks,drinks and biscuits. She moved to a buying role at Boots for three years but rejoined Tesco over five years ago, taking up the senior buying role last August just in time for the start of the Christmas season. Brindley says she finds the seasonal nature of her job a real challenge, what with planning for the next season starting before the current season has been traded. She believes planning and range selection are key to a good event, and was praised by suppliers for her fairness, strategic direction and enthusiasm.
