Refuel & Go has reported a sales surge since its total switch from Mace to Spar earlier this year.
The Surrey-based independent forecourt operator tested the waters a year ago when it moved its Bethnal Green, east London, site over to Spar.
It followed with its remaining seven sites this April - all serviced by Blakemore Trade Partners.
The business, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trevellyan Group, reported a 10% increase in like-for-like retail sales since the switch and improving the store design, layout, merchandising, category management and marketing & supply solutions.
The sites have had their chilled food offering extended, new Tonight’s Tea meal solutions implemented and Spar own-label products added, while Blakemore Trade Partners has helped develop tailored product ranges to suit each location.
“An award-winning Spar brand range, strong promotional activity and a flexible approach to working in partnership made Blakemore an attractive choice, and we are confident they will be a true partner to drive our business forward,” said Refuel & Go MD Andrew MacDonald.
Refuel & Go’s eight forecourt sites are located in Bethnal Green, Croydon and Swiss Cottage in London; Chiddingfold in Surrey; Braintree, Black Notley and Hornchurch, in Essex; and Windsor in Berkshire.
MacDonald said he was looking to expand and hoped to buy up to three sites next year.
