Remeo Gelato has switched up the packaging of its Sorbets on a stick to a new paper wrapper.
The wrapper, which will roll out to stores in May, is recyclable in normal household recycling.
Remeo Gelato said it had been looking into alternatives to its previous polypropylene wrapper but found paper solutions would often tear with high-speed flow wrap technology. It said this issue had now been resolved by a new mechanical part and lower speed of wrapping.
The Sorbets on a stick are sold in multipacks, which are packaged in a paper box. The move to paper wrappers means the entirety of the product’s packaging is 100% plastic-free.
