Mondelez will expand its Ritz portfolio of healthier snacks on 26 September when it rolls out Bakefuls.
The bagged NPD comprises is baked crackers that claim to contain 30% less fat than regular potato crisps, with 109 calories per pack. It is available in two variants - Cream Cheese & Onion and Sea Salt & Vinegar - and is positioned as a bite-size version of Ritz Crisp & Thin.
Bakefuls (rsp: £1.65/5x23g) will be supported by in-store investment from October to December.
The new product was “a perfect to answer the trend for tasty products that are better for you”, claimed Sandra Ferreira, senior brand manager for Ritz.
“Given the success we’ve seen with Crisp & Thin, we are confident Bakefuls will help retailers drive incremental sales in healthier crisps and snacks,” she added.
