Midlands-based brewer Springhead has taken two of its ales into the off-trade.
Robin Hood - a 4% abv traditional bitter - is rolling out into Asda stores in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire now, together with Maid Marian - a pale golden 4.5% abv with a fruity orange aroma and dry finish (both rsp: £1.89/500ml bottle).
First brewed in 2010 to coincide with the launch of the Russell Crowe Robin Hood film, the ales proved so popular that the brewer decided to launch bottled versions.
“We are delighted Asda is supporting our ambition to increase awareness and availability for our award-winning locally produced beers,” said MD Helen Teasdale.
